We are located at the end of Shearer Point Road on the south shore (The "best Shore") of Rice Lake, at approximately the middle of Rice Lake...Our resort is situated with all the cottages facing west towards Rice Lake, and for your pleasure and enjoyment, some of the most awesome sunsets you'll ever see.

Idle hours Fishing Resort is a small Spacious (5 cottages) self-catering fishing resort in a tranquil setting right on Rice Lake. Idle hours fishing resort offers 2, & 3 bedroom lakefront or lake view housekeeping cottages. We operate from May thru October.

Shade is never a problem at Idle Hours with the Large Poplars and Ash Trees, plus a Swinging time on our Famous tire swing tree, for young and old.

At Idle Hours, a serene setting and spectacular sunsets provide the perfect ambience to fish, read a book, or Idlely sit back and take in the view of Rice Lake.

Everything is provided for your comfort and convenience. Fully equipped kitchens, refrigerator, stove, microwave, Coffee Pot, Kettle, Dishes, Glasses, Mugs, Utensils & Cutlery, Pots & Pans, hot & cold running water, 3 piece bathrooms, Propane heating and gas barbeque and picnic tables at every cottage. Besides the weekly cottage rentals, We also rent Fishing Boats & Motors, And up at our front office we even sell bait For those who like the "REEL" thing for catchin their feast.

For your convenience we also provide free fish cleaning facility and freezers for your catch. If you are not into boating, You can fish right off our docks and catch some great Walleye, large or small mouth bass and lot's of pan fish, crappie, blue gill, sunfish, perch, and even carp & catfish.
